"Filter Forge" ist eine Plug-in-Sammlung für Photoshop, die es ermöglicht, eigene Filter selbst zu bauen.

Das Foto-Bearbeitungs-Tool "Filter Forge" bringt zahlreiche Filter und Effekte zum Bearbeiten von Fotos mit. Wirklich schön ist, dass man die Auswirkungen auf das Bild sofort in einer Art Vorschaufenster angezeigt bekommt. So kann man mehrere Plug-ins ausprobieren, bis einem das Ergebnis zusagt.

Wer meint, dass ihm die mitgelieferten Filter nicht ausreichen, findet tausende weitere auf der Internetseite, die sehr einfach in die Software eingebunden werden können.

Die Shareware kann als Plug-in für Photoshop oder als eigenständiges Programm verwendet werden. Zusätzlich können Sie mit "Filter Forge" eigene Filter erstellen, die ganz Ihren Bedürfnissen entsprechen.

Mit PCMark bieten die finnischen Futuremark Studios seit Jahren eine der umfangreichsten Benchmarking-Suiten für PC-Systeme zum Download an. Wollen Sie die Leistungsfähigkeit Ihres PC- oder Notebook-Systems genau erfassen, brauchen Sie solch einen unabhängigen Benchmark-Test. Auch IT-Unternehmen und Redaktionen nutzen PCMark um vergleichbare Aussagen über die Leistungsfähigkeit von Hardware-Komponenten geben zu können.

Die neueste Version PCMark 8 läuft nur noch auf Rechnern mit Windows 7, Windows 8 oder Windows 8.1 als Betriebssystem. PCMark 8 wurde so angelegt, dass Sie möglichst viele verschiedene Systeme benchmarken können. Sei es Tablet, Notebook, PC oder Ultrabook. In den drei großen Einzeltest-Sparten Home, Creative und Work schicken Sie Ihr System durch spezielle Test-Einstellungen.

Im Home-Test sollen typische PC-Anforderungen für normale Nutzer abgeklopft werden - beispielsweise Surfen im Internet, Schreiben am Computer, Computerspiele, Video-Chatting und Fotobearbeitung.

In den Creative-Tests werden zudem noch Medien-Konvertierungen berücksichtigt und für Work-Aufgaben werden nur spezielle Anforderungen berücksichtigt, da mit diesen PCs in der Regel nicht gespielt wird.

Nutzer der kostenpflichtigen Advanced- und Professional Edition können zudem auf neue Festplatten- und SSD-Tests, Programmtests und individuell zusammengestellte Tests zurückgreifen. Die Basis-Version kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.

Am Ende jeden Durchlaufs bekommen Sie eine detaillierte Auflistung, wie Ihr System in den verschiedenen Bereichen abschneidet. Aus der PCMark-Suite errechnet sich schließlich der berühmte Score, mit dem unzählige User online Ihre System-Performance untereinander vergleichen können.
